Eh, if it weren't for the wiki conflating food type and ingredient values since time immemorial, it would have been pretty straight-forward. But everyone and their mother uses the wiki, so they get it mixed up like this.

Food Type determines who can eat something, Ingredient Values determine what something does in the crock pot.

And since creatures are (generally speaking) either carnivores, herbivores or omnivores, food types don't need to differentiate between fruits and veggies, so there's no FRUIT foodtype.
