There's 2 bugs actually... 
The first one is about the Dark Swords skins in general, they're playing the swing fx even if you're attacking from a Beefalo unlike other weapons or skins like the Morning Star electricity animation or the Bat Bat's bats from the Scythe skin, a minor bug but fixing it will delete the major issue as well.
The second one is about the Twisted Dagger skin in particular, its super fancy animation is supposed to be played in the same direction than the player, only problem : players have 4 directions, Beefalos have 6, so in two of them the game will crash.
Steps to Reproduce
Equip a Dark Sword with the Twisted Dagger skin and attack from a beefalo on 2 specific directions
A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
