Toadstool and Ancient Gateway Are Bugged

Test World was generated in the latest update.

Kill Toadstool.

Kill Ancient Fuelweaver. (I made sure to wait for the gateway to do its explosion thing).

Go to the surface world. Do a c_speedup(100000) since a LongUpdate of 20+ days doesn't make them respawn.

Wait for them to have respawned.

See that Toadstool never came back.

See that the gateway is still in its animation.

Steps to Reproduce

Do the above :D

User Feedback

Is that still the case if you kill them, rollback once, and then wait the 20 days (after they had been killed)?

c_speedup would not be networked to the caves, while days might have passed quicker, the actual time won't have passed any quicker.

@zarklord_klei What about Long Updates? Long Updating in the surface shard in the past worked fine, but not this time around.

I report this bug because my FW is still bugged in the world I sent you some time ago, even after playing it for some time, hence the test worlds. (Sent on day 575, now on day 636).

What should I do on my end to ensure I'm testing this correctly?

@Viktor234 Yeah, that did the trick.

My other world is probably just bricked then though from being in the beta. To the trash it goes.

The problem here might be the fact that you need to rollback once whenever you start a fresh world to make Pigman, Bunnyman, Slurtles, Toadstool, Fuelweaver, etc. respawn.

That's at least the case for me whenever I join a public server: Nothing respawns not until the first rollback.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense then. I've never rolled back in my world. I'll try that out and see if that fixes it, cause I do like that world.

Has that bug been reported and fixed? I don't see it when skimming the tracker.

According to your world file, the gateway should cooldown in 15.6 days(assuming normal world settings), and there is a spawned toadstool_cap in your world that is workable.

Alright, I'll kill toad tomorrow and see if it comes back and follow up to see if FW comes back in 15.6 days too.

Should I rollback my world lile Viktor suggested or play as is without rolling back? I haven't rolled back in that world ever before this.

I don't think it should be necessary...

I just tried to reproduce this bug:

I regenerated my world via the ingame menu, went into the caves and found a group of 5 Slurtle Mounds. I killed every Slurtle by hitting the mound twice, luring the Slurtles away from the Mound and igniting them with a Torch. Then I did wait for a whole day until returning and repeating the action.

Some of the mounds kept spawning more Slurtles, others stopped doing so. I also tried the same thing with Splumonkeys by camping next to the pod and killing all the spawning Splumonkeys, after some time all of the pods stopped spawning more Splumonkeys. Everything got fixed by doing a single rollback.
