When a merm spots food on the ground and goes to eat it, they'll say the same lines they say when offered food by Wurt (or a disguised player). I don't think they're supposed to say "Will come with you." when they find free kelp on the ground.
Steps to Reproduce
Pick Wurt as your character. Spawn a Merm. Spawn kelp fronds on the ground near it. Observe what it says and it goes to eat them.

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
