As title says, you can't see what the Merm King says if you aren't the host of a caveless server. We just had our great King starve to death because his requests for food did not reach us through the magic of netcode.
Steps to Reproduce
Host a world with caves not enabled. Spawn the King of the Merms and notice how he says he desires food right after transforming. Now host a world with caves, do the same thing and notice the lack of speech.
