Insanity sounds even at full sanity

Unless I'm completely insane irl, I'm pretty sure insanity ambience is noticeable all the time, I don't really remember if I still have it after a moment as I play and sanity goes up and down, but for example every time I make a new world and spawn (at full sanity then), I assure you I can hear it very slightly and since I noticed it I'm getting a little uncomfortable from it, especially when I try to do some audio changes. I'm also certain it isn't the normal ambience of any biome given it's everywhere (even biomes in which I have custom ambient).

Here's how it sounds, my volume is usually low and I'm not sure if any of the current settings could have isolated the insanity ambience (plz we need better sound config panel :love_heart:) so sorry for all the audio mess because of the portal and all that, it's a little more audible at the end :

I don't remember having this problem before Wolfgang rework btw.

Shhh, listen...

I don't know what sound you're talking about. The slight buzz in the background? I'm pretty sure that's always been there, especially in grass biome and forest one.

Nope, not sure what's the buzz in the insanity ambient, but look (more like listen) at 52sec it's where you will have it the better, there's these very discernable sort of distorted barks that you very frequently have when you're insane but here all the insanity sounds are super low,

I'll try to record it better later if needed but the better thing I can tell to convince they are insanity sounds is where I pause the game, ambient sounds immediately stop when the game is paused, but not insanity sounds who play until finished, and they're audible in the video at the moment I pause it.

I hear nothing man, maybe you are insane irl. Not even during the paused section

I'll check if the game sounds similar for me, I'll also check the sound on my good earphones

No, wait! I can hear it now! There is something, very very quiet. Right at the end, it sounds like this bark sound is playing.

I'm gonna check my game in a sec

Sorry, the main reason for that is that I usually play the game with my mixer volume at 2 max, to me that sounds already quite loud but while I record stuff it's getting very little (and yet I did boost the audio a bit during the edit), I'll be recording one more if it can help

In game, I thought I maybe heard it once- but then I completely stopped hearing anything. It's mostly the barking thing that can be noticed, but not much else.

This could very well be that these sounds have always been somewhere in the background, and we only noticed them now.

If you want to record again, try setting ambience to max while everything else lower?

Cause I hear some of the little things that also happen during insanity. But not all of them, that would imply the whole insanity ambience is turned down in the game. Either some sfx sneaked into the general ambience, or as I said, they've always been part of the game. I'll check DS solo as well.

I also tried going insane and then sane again. It looks like the sounds stick around- which I don't remember happening during normal gameplay. For real, I've been sane for a minute now and the insanity sound is still here, though quiet.

Yeah, once you go insane and then sane again, the sounds just stay. You're not crazy at all, they are very pronounced now

I'm going to record it happening, since I'm already playing.

The whispering fragments are especially audible during the pause. You still need to have your volume very loud.

I'm gonna go check DS now.

Nothing of the sort happens in DS. Maybe because the insanity sounds there are under SFX and not ambience.
