I died when I went to the server during the hounds.

When you leave a server, your character continues existing for a few seconds before you're removed properly, even if you're in the loading limbo on your screen. You were killed by the hounds. Not a bug.

No, you are mistaken, if I died from the hounds, this will be recorded in the cause of death. In addition, there were no dogs near me when I entered the server.

if you die during "limbo" it will always say "shenanigans".

the hounds simply moved away.
