How to fix the script lua thingy??

I just downloaded this yesterday ( I'm a beginner by the way). It was going pretty well.. I played a game or two. Then today I was planning to play it with my friend and this error stuff popped up. I really don't know what to do. :(

@Kanneine that is it, it's a .txt file (at the top  beside File Home Share, click View and select Details View option, a .txt file is listed as file type: Text Document) that is called client_log. Drag drop that into your next reply to attach it.

@Kanneine, to attach you just drag drop the actual file from your windows explorer into the textbox that appears when you are making a reply, but this is good enough for now. Really does look like something's wrong with the game files but specifically with playerprofile, but since doing a verify results to the same thing. Which makes me thing this is a permissions issue, can you try the follow method:

  • Go to Steam\SteamApps\common\Don't Starve Together Beta\bin
  • Right click dontstarve_steam, then properties
  • Under Compatibility tab, enable Run this program as administrator
  • Apply, then ok.
  • Open steam, and start DST again and try again.

@Kanneine it looks like you might have badness in your save data or the game is unable to write to it.

Can you try renaming your save game directory?

 

On Windows, your save data directory is located here:

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Klei\

(Hit WindowsKey+R, paste that path, hit enter.)

Rename the DoNotStarveTogether folder to DoNotStarveTogether_broken and try to run the game again.

 

If that works, you can try to revive some of your save files by copying the Cluster_ folders into the new DoNotStarveTogether directory. (The broken file is probably DoNotStarveTogether/client_save/profile )
