Put a Cooked Eel into Wurt's inventory,

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

It's weird too because cooking a regular fish will still give you the sanity boost, but the cooked eel doesn't.

Maybe the bug is that the cooked regular fish is giving you sanity, since Wurt says "Fish are friends, not food!" for a cooked fish and "No!" for a cooked Eel.

Also, Merm King will accept cooked fish for its trade, but not cooked eel. 

Probably has to do with the fact that only the raw version of eel has the tag "fish" and not its cooked version.

That was indeed the case, the issue has been fixed and should be out in the next few updates.
