A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

It also deletes all your books if you sink a boat with a bookcase on it. Books float normally. 

Pile of debris on the right was a boat with a bookcase. Book in water makes my librarian heart sad, but needed to be tried for testing purposes.
