Explored map sometimes hides when you use soul hop from boat

I'm not sure if this is it but there was a change made to make everything on a boat unload and load at once with the boat(as to fix issues with the rudder being uninteractable and mobs walking off a boat). My running theory on how this issue might occur is the boat unloads when Wortox teleports before he's removed as a entity on the platform, and this causes Wortox to also unload deleting his character.

I've given it a small test where I added myself as a platform follower to a boat and then unload it, and sure enough big white flash indicating character deletion(but I also crashed, which doesn't seem to happen in this case and some of the others I've seen). So this might be something totally different, I'm unsure.
