BluePete99
Hello, I have a problem where my servers are stuck on the "launching server" screen. It started about last week. I disconnected from the server and left the game, the next time i tried loading the server, it was stuck on the launching screen. At first it was only on one server and i could play online servers, my other servers and the forge like normal. Yesterday however, my other server had the same issue: i build a science machine, the game froze and i got disconnected from the server, the next time i tried loading it, it got stuck too. If I press cancel on the launching screen, it freezes and crashes the entire game, while steam still thinks the game is running (but task manager doesn't). I don't have any mods installed, my steam and don't starve together game are up to date, i verified the integrity of the game files, uninstalled en re-installed the game, restarted steam and my computer several times, but nothing worked. My computer is new and the specs are good enough that i shouldn't have any problems with games like this. On my laptop (with worse specs than my computer) i don't have this issue (yet). The only thing I can think of is that it has to do with the caves, seeing that it only happened on servers with caves installed. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? Thanks. tl;dr: my servers get stuck on the launching screen (if caves are installed)
Zillvr
Hello @BluePete99, welcome to the forums. Are you launching the server from the in-game Host Game screen? Could you go to Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\Cluster_#\Master (wherein # corresponds to the server slot used from the Host Game screen), and make a copy of the server_log.txt and attach it to this thread (drag drop the file specifically into the text window when you make replies). BluePete99
Here you go, @Zillvr! server_log.txt
Zillvr
@BluePete99 oh also attach the server_log.txt from the Caves folder.
BluePete99
@Zillvr If I try dragging the file, the site says it's too big and was thus skipped. The file is 8,501,762 KB..
Zillvr
Okay, now that's strange, an average server_log.txt file shouldn't be that big. Open it with notepad and scroll to the end and cut out a portion from the end. My gut tells me, there should be some sort of looping error that keeps looping and looping creating a very long server_log.txt. Attach a snippet of the end. BluePete99
I tried opening it in Notepad and wordpad but the file was too big, now I'm trying to open it in word but it has too many pages.. I'll sent a snippet of the last page that loaded: (most of the file is exactly this text repeated as you expected) [00:11:49]: steamnetworkingsockets_lowlevel.cpp (659) : Assertion Failed: SDR service thread gave up on lock after waiting 46804ms. Zillvr
@BluePete99 Since it seems to stem from network connectivity, with a bit of searching around I reckon you try either add DST to your antivirus whitelist or disable your antivirus for a bit then try to create a server again with caves. BluePete99
I'll try that, thank you so much!
