yatima2975
Given that the next couple of releases will have a lot of polish and quality of life improvements, I thought it'd be of interest to find out which functions or action you want accesible via a keypress. Here's my list (with suggested hotkeys): Reload last save for current colony (Ctrl-R) Mute Audio (Ctrl-M) Build a tile (Ctrl-T) Build a wire (Ctrl-W) Build a liquid pipe (Ctrl-P, or maybe Ctrl-Q for reachability by left hand on keyboard - it's a liQuid pipe) Build a gas pipe (Crtl-G) Build a ladder (Ctrl-L, or Ctrl-A for reachability reasons; a lAdder) Build a pneumatic door (Ctrl-D) Build a storage compactor (Ctrl-S) Some of the most common build orders get moved according to which technologies you've researched so muscle memory isn't much use there... I'd like to hear your ideas! Let's use that keyboard for all it's worth! Why would you ever want to mute it? 3 minutes ago, yatima2975 said: Reload last save for current colony (Ctrl-R) I would like a quicksave feature, like in Skyrim and Fallout. The quicksave could be f5 and quickload could be f9. 3 minutes ago, yatima2975 said: Build a tile (Ctrl-T) Build a wire (Ctrl-W) Build a liquid pipe (Ctrl-P, or maybe Ctrl-Q for reachability by left hand on keyboard - it's a liQuid pipe) Build a gas pipe (Crtl-G) Build a ladder (Ctrl-L, or Ctrl-A for reachability reasons; a lAdder) Build a pneumatic door (Ctrl-D) Build a storage compactor (Ctrl-S) I agree with hotkeys for common buildings. Ideally, we would be able to bind any building to a button so if we have a base that is build out of mesh tiles, we could bind mesh tiles. I get phonecalls sometimes Or I want to watch a videoclip, or whatever... Most of the time I leave the background music on, it's really soothing, but sometimes I don't. 2 minutes ago, Zarquan said: I would like a quicksave feature, like in Skyrim and Fallout. Wouldn't that conflict with the light overlay (which I never use!) and the germ overlay (which is rather more useful!)? 2 minutes ago, Zarquan said: I agree with hotkeys for common buildings. We have a way to focus our view with the Ctrl/Shift 1-9 system and something similiar could work for build orders: Select an item to be built, press Ctrl-<whatever> to store the hotkey and Shift-<whatever> to use the item again later. No need for a fixed list of things you can build quickly, that way. That's an awesome idea! True. But I do like having quicksave and quickload. They can be bound somewhere else.
