Difficulty with Native Screen Resolution

Recommended Posts

I'm having trouble changing DS from my screen's default resolution (4k). I want to play in 1080p because the screen stutters from the demand of the higher resolution, even with netbook mode enabled. My graphics card is NVIDIA GTX1050Ti MaxQ.

Here is what it looks like when I try to change the game's resolution to 1080p.

Changing the screen's resolution through System Settings makes no difference in the game's appearance. Even if the screen's native resolution is set to 1080p, setting the game to 1080p as well still results in the image above. Playing in windowed mode also locks the game to (almost) 4k, unless I shrink the window, but that defeats the purpose.

Is there any workaround for this besides an external monitor? I'd really like to play Hamlet and I've been a fan of DS since 2012. I only recently encountered this problem when I bought the Dell XPS 15 with the 4k monitor and now the game stutters unbearably at times, even when setting everything to max performance.
