Blue001 Posted October 18, 2018 Share Posted October 18, 2018 User Interface 1. Change Icon Colors to match urgency. Sweep job icons shouldn't be red. They make it hard to see other more important things like Entombed Machines, or Broken Wires. Here are a couple possible examples. Disabled machines (via your own choices) = Yellow icon, Machines with no Power, Orange icon. Entombed = White to Red, Flashing Icon Broken Wire/Machine = Red Icon New Duplicant Available = Blue Icon Disinfect Job = Green (or purple?) Icon 2. Color Tiles - This would be a neat feature, to personalize and/or organize your base. The basic "Tile" could be selected to be highlighted/tinted/hued one of 10 different colors, default, red, blue, yellow, orange, green, purple, pink, black, white. This way you could visually designate sectors in your base, for your own purposes. The visual change would offer no in game bonus. 3. Disabled Machines Shouldn't Ask For Materials - Not sure if this is a bug for this one particular machine or they are all like this, but currently, if you disable the Algae Distiller, it will leave the "Building lacks Resources" message on your screen forever. Regardless of the fact you turned it off and don't need it to even HAVE resources. 4. Add an "Idle" Command - Currently if you need a duplicant to go somewhere and stay there while you handle a situation, they will constantly fight against your Move To command by running back somewhere again after they have moved there. Please add a button on the Duplicants that forces them into the "Idle" stance (have a pop up pop up in the top left like usual) and they will remain there until you take them off idle again. They shouldn't move to pee, get food, or even go to a bed to sleep and if they are tired they should collapse to sleep where you have them idled. Gameplay and Balance A. Make Wires Behind A Machines Power Input Not Damage Decor - I understand the "ew that's a wire, it makes this rooms decor go down" thing, but I find the fact that to use a light "to reduce stress" I also have to take a hit in the room for the -5 decor from the wire to plug it in. The wire is only IN the room because I have to have it leavethe wall to reach the light, but that seems like an unfair trade and more of a limit of the "tile" system. If I could have an "outlet" tile that I could place machines or lights up against to power them without the wire, I would, but that's not in the game, so what I am asking for is that any wire that is in a "input outlet" slot on a machine, shouldn't give -5 decor as that wire is in the same slot as the machine and is technically hidden behind it. B. Allow Storage To Stack On Eachother - Allow storage boxes to consider each other "floor tiles" so that you can stack them on top of each other for space saving. C. Allow Rotation of Deodorizer. Allow the Deodorizer to be placed attached to walls and ceilings. It's just an air filter, so it makes more sense to be on the ceiling most of the time and having to waste a room tile to prop one up there with a floor tile hanging in the air seems a bit steep of a cost. D. Increase Range for Seasoned Miner and Seasoned Builder - On top of the other bonuses that they gain by reaching this job level, I feel it would be nice if they could build and dig from +1 more tile away. On preview of wire circuits/ pipes/ gas pipes possibility to select different colors for different circuits 3. adding filter to cleaning tools to be used i.e. If I want to remove from the floor only coal etc 4. Show Polluted Oxygen On Germs Overlay : As far as I can tell there is no good way to track Polluted oxygen buildups in your base besides having a keen eye for those little swaths of green air. Adding green highlights to the Germs overlay that show pockets of Pulluted Oxygen would be a great help. Allow cooking of meat by itself. : It shouldn't change the calories provided by the meat, but cooking it alone should make it +1 quality, up from the -1 from the raw version. Requiring Pincha to be able to cook meat at all seems like it's overly "gated for difficulty" for no reason. If I have a grill I should be able to cook it. Move Electric Grill to higher research level, and add a Coal grill to take its place in Meal Prep: It would be nice to not have to use power lines for EVERYTHING early game. That and Coal only has one use in the game currently so adding this would give players some diversity when it comes to that resources uses. Add Borderless Fullscreen mode. : Currently in full screen I can mouse off the screen just fine, it's just that when I click another window the game minimizes itself. I'd like it to stay up on my other screen while I peruse the wiki for example. Per @korkzonkower idea #3 - Add a Sweep Overlay with filters : It would be nice if we could have an overlay for sweeping that was like the Deconstruct Overlay with it's selectable filters. The filters for sweeping could be the same category filters available for Storage Compactors (as listing every item separately would be silly. But filters based on "Mineral, Cultivatable Soil, Filtration medium, etc" would cut down on that. Also, have the overlay highlight all items that need to be swept. Allow Coloring of Storage Compactors - People have been asking for renaming things and all that for a while, but I think a color system would help too. If I make a black storage box and keep all of my Coal in it, I could tell at a glance that is what it was for. Allow us to Minimize/Hide the Object List in the top right. : (The one that tells you how many of each thing you have in your base) While useful, I would like to be able to clean up some screen clutter some. Make the "Path" view a Bright Neon Green : Currently, the white line that shows us where a dupe is going/can walk is hard to see against the grey of the ground tiles.
