What if you could find "blueprints" in computers that you could load up onto the Printing Pod, allowing for you to print duplicants with additional bonuses or traits, like having newly printed duplicants have an athletics boost or something like that. Or maybe you could find one-time schematics that allow you to print a normally unobtainable duplicant, such as one that breaths chlorine, or can swim in water, or can climb walls(perhaps a "Webber" duplicant, anyone?). I like the chlorine breathing duplicant but unless the map always spawn with a chlorine geyser or there's a way to reliably produce chlorine, I'm not so sure of this dupe's survival. This does however introduce a whole new monkey wrench into the mix which I think would spice up the game. Having "alien" duplicants in your base working hand in hand with your normal dupes for survival. I think this would take a bunch of work to come about if there are dupes with radically different living conditions. Webber is very welcome to the colony... so long as he doesn't lay eggs in Meep's mouth while he sleeps. Those dupes could have much more extreme stats like -4 food perception or double skill mastery speed. I find overall the current, somewhat limited amount of dupe models slightly saddening (even if it is realistic for the game lore I am not keen on printing visual copies of the same dupes over and over again when the colony grows to huge size during lategame) so anything that can add more models is a great contribution. The fact that the dupes could have new never-before-seen traits could potentially be game changing and add a whole new layer to the game. I love the idea of unlocking new abilities like extreme heat resistance, being able to communicate with wrangled animals or just leaving small traces of slime wherever the dupe goes! Some of the new dupes might need special environments to survive in, but that could be utilised for anything between a "challenge mode" (try to survive with 3 germ resistant dupes that may not come in contact with water for example) to being able to create multiple colonies for different types of dupes.
