Jynn
I seriously cannot get the hang of it. I'm stuck on the Boosting mastery course at the very beginning simply because i cannot figure out how to bunny hop in a straight line to build speed and to time the jump when i'm at the edge so that i can make the leap. If i start running to make the leap, i lose all my built up speed -.- and half the time i hop right off the edge or lose my momentum Seriously lol, i've been at it so long i have to stop because my darn fingers ache from pressing down on my A and D keys to strafe in air to build speed... what am i doing wrong? What trick is there that isn't explained at the beginning for keeping your momentum so that you can make that jump without dumping all your speed? Wizloc
There's not much of a trick. When bunny hopping to the left (pressing A) move your mouse to the left, and when hopping to the right (pressing D) move it to the right. You'll see the half-circle indicator filling up. Try to press Space (jump) the second you hit the ground to get the bonus. You need to chain several together to increase your speed enough to cross the gap. If you need help, feel free to add me on Steam (same name as here) and you can spectate to see if you're missing anything. Jynn
I understand that, but what i don't understand is why my speed instantly drops to normal as soon as i try to make a jump -.- i've made it to the 2nd level of the boosting mastery, but i cannot cross that gap because my built up speed vanishes and i miss the jump like seriously. I'll spin in circles to build up my speed to 4.5, then i'll try to run the course, and i'll make one mistake or press the wrong strafe key and all the speed drops. Or i'll make it all the way to the jump, jump....and still not make it, even with 5 speed. i want to like this game. I enjoy the normal levels. But when you get into this stupid boosting crap and horrible design like Chase the Grade, it makes me want to throw my computer at the wall. I am literally so angry and frustrated right now after spending 3 hours trying to figure out how to boost and failing utterly, and with people laughing and mocking me as they run past and complete it. GIve me a way to turn off chat so i dont' have to listen to idiots mocking me for not being able to do this Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92240-tips-for-boosting/#findComment-1052423 Share on other sites

So you have to keep jumping to make sure you keep all of your built speed. Also, at higher speeds you lose your speed even faster Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92240-tips-for-boosting/#findComment-1052479 Share on other sites
Jynn
That must be m y problem, though i think my biggest issue is that i tend to start hitting the wrong A or D keys after doing it for too long. Just more practice needed I guess Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/92240-tips-for-boosting/#findComment-1052656 Share on other sites
