Floor lamp light distance

Because floor lamps emit light from the top tile and plants and terrariums only recognize light at the bottom tile, it means that you have to do weird looking things to get the most out of your floor lamp.  For example, this does not illuminate the terrarium:

This also applies to bristle blossoms and duplicants (for the decor bonus).  Also, this means dupes only get decor benefits from their feet for some reason.  Are those eyes purely decorative and they actually see through their knees?

 

This feel silly.  Would it be possible to either change how the light is emitted from the lamp so that the first image boosts the terrarium OR or allow the top tile of dupes, bristle blossom, and terrariums to benefit from light on the top tile?
