Ricordis Posted April 14, 2018 Share Posted April 14, 2018 Small idea I just got a few seconds ago: You know these conveyors/horizontal escalators used at airports for faster pedestrian transportation? Yeah, something like this for ONI. It is a modular system with two different tiles: a standard 1x1 floor tile and a 1x2 checkpoint module. Just like exo-suit stations these two modules form a complete conveyor belt. You place a checkpoint at both ends and connect them with the 1x1 floor tiles. The direction of the conveyor can be defined via menu and is shown with arrows like on wash basins. Every module has to be powered. The checkpoints have automation inputs. Runspeed in conveyor direction is increased by 75% while in the other direction it is slowed down to 25%. Like a horizontal fire pole. Nice bonus would be if goods lying on the conveyor would be moved too. Doesn't work if submerged in liquids, can't build on them, don't let gases or liquids pass and maybe have the same prerequisites like the current conveyor belts (Job, research and materials).
