HOW TO: Pet Beefalo (Not a suggestion!)

Today, I accidentally discovered something AMAZING! I present to you...

[Dramatic Voice] THE PET BEEFALO [/Dramatic Voice]

Step ONE: Get beefalo hat.

Step TWO: Wait for beefalo mating season.

Step THREE: Find baby beefalo and it's mum.

Step FOUR: Walk near the adult beefalo without your beefalo hat (No, I'm not trolling you. This is what I did for my beefalo pet)

Step FIVE: Run away from adult beefalo when it has aggro'd onto you.

Step SIX: Make sure the baby beefalo is "chasing" you too.

Step SEVEN: Put on beefalo hat and outlast the adult beefalo in the chase.

And now (Considering this wasn't a one-time bug for me) you should have your very own, pet baby beefalo!

The baby beefalo will run paces from and to you, never attacking you no matter how close you get (Just don't stab it with your spear) and never attacking your Chester.

Okay, but for reals now. I need a very nice person to help me out and test if this actually works for them, because mating season had just ended for my world and it takes like 20 days for another to start.

I need some confirmation if this actually works, or if it was just a one-time occasion for me.

Known Facts:

- The baby beefalo will still follow you throughout it's teen life. (Not confirmed with fully grown)

- The baby beefalo will not attack anything, including you and your Chester (Not confirmed if you attack the beefalo first)

- The baby beefalo WILL occasionally give you manure

- You do not have to wear your beefalo hat for your pet to still follow you

I think this actually happened to me in the progress patch. I can vaguely recall i killed an adult beefallo and had a beefallo hat. Other than that i'm not sure the sequence of events. Anyway the baby followed me , even through wormholes, but he would run away the minute he got close, then turn around adn run back toward me. Other then amusement at the neurotic behavior it was kinda pointless.

Yup happened to me too. Same as above, it followed me through wormholes etc, up until it was a teen, then got killed by hounds one night. Not sure of the exact steps to reproduce but I have had it happen twice, second time the beefalo lost interest though and stopped following me.
