One extra line for qualification descriptions.

Recommended Posts

I have a bit of a an issue with the way how jobs are implemented in general, but my problem at the moment is that it lacks one important bit of description in one place where i actually need it.

After "XXX is qualified for the YYY position" just add "Occupation status: untrained/in training/trained". This way player knows that this dupe proficiency level in this particular job, without needing to go thru lists of everyone who is qualified(that part on top of jobs window "Duplicants who have mastered this job:"), or assigning him to it to see his progress, and then crosscheck with dupe that is currently under evaluation(its a bit tedious when i have 20 dupes, all with different qualifications mastered).

I like this. Some method of seeing what training the dupe has in progress would be nice, especially when you're having to switch them around to handle different things because you don't have any that are fully trained yet.

Good idea

I also had some thoughts:

#1 When you mouse over the dupe it gives you stats, but it would be nice if there was a second tab that listed all jobs and had a completion percentage beside them (which should be easy to calc since it's just division using the HP).

Example - Stinky is a yokel that I've been progressing as a miner

  • Apprentice Miner - 100%
  • Miner - 76%
  • Seasoned Miner - 0%
  • Research Assistant - N/A
  • Scientist - N/A
  • Tenured Scientist - N/A

#2 I think Unemployed should be changed to General Laborer because technically they are still working. Dupes with this classification would still level up to 100% in this category but once they reach 100% maybe they would stop gaining attributes? This would make assigning jobs necessary as dupes wouldn't be able to level up if unassigned.

#3 All jobs should have three levels. Groundskeeper could have Apprentice Groundskeeper and Building Supervisor.
