Cooling multiple volcanoes with a single Turbine

Recommended Posts

Since turbines are more efficient when they run continuously I wanted to cool all of my massive heat sources in a single central location. To date this is the fruit of my efforts:

A closed steam gas system takes heat from my 3 volcanoes;

As you can see, I experimented with different radiator sizes in each volcano. The steam radiates into the steam bath at the Turbine which is controlled by an SR latch for efficiency. A small pocket of hydrogen above the generator tricks it into thinking that there is sufficient pressure imbalance so it never complains about running. Once the bath reaches 280 degrees it toggles on, and once it drops to 255 it turns off. This ensures nice long output cycles.The system hasn't quite reached equilibrium yet but I suspect the geysers will settle around 800 celsius. It currently runs about 60% of the time, although 2 of the volcanoes recently went dormant.

My next challenge is coming up with a way of getting the refined metal out without losing too much heat from the system.
