NOP Gate ( Diode ) for advanced automation

Recommended Posts

I know i can just use a double not logic gate to achieve this, but the visual crowding is cumbersome. A no operation diode, or NOP diode would compress the double not down into a single structure, not change the signal while isolating the output signal from reverse propagation.

I have had need of this when dealing with multi trigger, multi condition automation circuits. For these I've been using AND gates instead and have noticed that there's quite a bit of visual crowding when I could have otherwise used a more simplistic isolation gate. This essentially comes about as the result of sensors like the atmo-switch sharing signaling across any wire that runs through it rather than propagating an isolated signal from each direction.

NOP Gate - isolates the input part of an automation circuit from the output.

That's pretty sound thinking.

Adds a layer of variability also,  I like it.

Just as well though, if you don't need the timer, then adding it to the circuit simulation adds unnecessary calculations ...and still with the visual clutter.

I will keep this in mind in the future.
