Checked Storage categories sometimes auto-checks "new" subcategories, and sometimes doesn't

Lets say you're starting off a new world and want to be organized by having storage compactors for individual materials, especially those in high quantity, and so you have a storage compactor just for Sandstone, next to ones for the other "Raw Materials" that you've yet to dig through, and another for all seeds (since they rarely take up much space, even as a whole) . Then you start venturing outwards, digging through new materials and finding new seeds... but what happens to your storage? Since Sandstone was the ONLY "Raw Material" you had at the time, it thinks it's supposed to store ALL "Raw Material"s in it, but the Seed compactor DOESN'T think ANY of the new seeds should be in there!

Why? I know it's common for people to put specific seeds in compactors of their own, but why is it treated SO differently? with NO way to combat this issue? Like instead of only having check or no check for the categories, have the dot as a third option if what you have selected is going to be the ONLY one that should be in it!
