airlock automation question

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a headache trying to figure out something that should be simple. How can I send a not gate signal to two doors and an active signal to a mini gas pump from an active weight plate for a set amount of time? It's for a mini airlock design that won't take up much space that will use only two mechanized airlocks, one weight plate, and one mini gas pump. It's not a highly pressurized environment and I don't care about minimal leakage just want to contain most of the gas in a tight space. Since I haven't actually got it working I don't know how much it would screw up with the dupe pathing but whatever. I've tried using just a simple buffer gate on the mini gas pump but I want to try and contain more of the gas if possible by locking the doors for like 2 seconds so the pump can do its job properly. Apologies in advance if this is a really stupid question. EDIT: OK Sorry I just realized this is impossible because the doors cannot be set to auto mode via automation. Is there any alternative designs that might suit my situation?  I'm aware of the design where you use an atmo sensor and two extra doors but I wanted to avoid this because of my aforementioned problem with available space.

If you want small, vacuum-sealed airlock, I recommend two automated airlocks set to auto with a mini-pump between them. This allows for 3 points of entry - to the left, right and below. No need for complications as the pump turns off automatically and the 2-tile space lets few gases through.
