i like the core of that germ feature to have an invisible enemy, but whats about usefull germs i think about produce cheese that needs bakteria in the process
maybe germs that consume germs so we can cultivate specific germs to get rid of food poison and slimeloung, so we can construct a sewage treatmant plant


or make drugs that adds temporary a positive buff and then a negative buff, like slimelong drugs add "divers lounge" for a time period and after its end the dup become "mouth breaver" something like that. for pood poising maybe possitive effect err  Iron Gut and for negative smal bladder or bottomless stomage

i also think about stats boost pills like add 5 str or 5 athletics temporary
maybe pills / drugs that adds specific trais like early bird etc, for me its a cup of coffee :)
