I3LINK
After several runs through the game lemme start by saying well done guys on making such a beautifully designed game. And not just because of the charming hand drawn graphics, but really, the game is so well thought out and you get a sense that the developers are really thinking about what they're doing and love what they do. In particular I love the added role play element by giving each dupe their own personality traits/skills and weaknesses, and how they level up increasing your attachment to them, yet at the same they they become more demanding of luxuries and harder to please. Managing the gases/liquids/temperatures throughout the base each have systems that are designed very well, and all provide added depth and challenge. It's exciting to see how you guys are constantly adding further content, and don't be fooled by the negative reviews on Steam, I don't understand why so many people are hating, saying the game is boring?? Honestly guys it's great so keep up the good work. A few suggestions you guys might want to add; Constructable back walls so that rooms can feel more enclosed and have more of a distinct feel/style. Also this way the inside of your base could feel more enclosed in contrast with the outside, which I think would really add to the game experience. Convection, if you could improve the flow of gases in relation to temperature so that they can actually circulate instead of just passing through each other, which would improve the control of gases and be more realistic. Lastly, maybe some more options for renewable energy/O2 production, although I like the challenge currently, a few late game high tech options for renewable energy could be a good idea, such as geothermal or nuclear energy, and for more ways to recover water instead of it just disappearing into nothingness. A final thought, I was thinking that one of the reasons why I particularly like this game is because I study architecture and this is the closest that a game has ever come to simulating the challenges of an architect, while also being pretty cool that it's set in space. So considering the similarities I think that a more architecture inspired sort of sequel could work really well after you guys finish with this game. In the architecture game you could add some more/different game mechanics which you couldn't have in this game, such as managing the sunlight/daylight/thermal mass, glazing (which insulates yet allows the passage of light), difference in temperature between day and night/seasons, wind and using ventilation but this time in relation to wind, to name a few. You may even maintain the sci-fi setting but this time have you crash land on an alien planet except the planet could have an atmosphere which could vary with each play through. I3LINK
So like imagine you're on a planet where the sunlight is so powerful that if your dupe leaves the shade they can overheat and even die, but then the seasons could change and in the colder climate it's so cold that if you don't properly insulate the building then you'll freeze, and that the sun is lower so you can allow the angle of the sun to enter the spaces and provide heat. You could even try and relocate to a different more preferable biome to settle in, like a bunch of space nomads, how about if you even migrated between season, the possibilities are endless. I dunno about you guys but this kind of sequel would be amazing! I hope it somehow happens... Steam turbines, solar panels, and nuclear rectors are three things I'd love to see in this game.
