True Reason for Duplicants. ( Conspiracy )

I believe that duplicants were created for their resistance to melting in Lava. Their body will never melt or deteriorate in lava.

After the colony is full, the humans will come and harvest the duplicants. The duplicants seem to be balloons/hollow since their mass is so low. This means that they could easily be turned into heat resistant jackets for the humans to wear.

There are ruins in the meteor because the humans have come before. Duplicants are resistant to extreme cold and able to survive in meager environments. They can eat mealwood that never runs out. The meteor seems hardly habitable for humans. Therefore the only reason that the previous duplicants could have perished is that humans came to harvest them.

 

The other possibility is that since the galaxy is expanding, the only way to sustain life in a ever thinning world is to create a species that can create mass from nowhere. Duplicants can create water from crying. This means that they can terraform a single meteor into a much large planet that is suitable for life. Earth merely threw a portion of itself into space and let in grow into another earth. This used to be my theory. However, it seems implausible because duplicants have no way to dig out of the meteor to expand it. The theory that they are farmed for heat resistance material seems more likely.
