Broken Gas Filter: Can Anyone Help?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. New player here.

I've got my Electrolyzers producing oxygen and built a H2 generator to make use of the waste gas. I've set up a gas pump near the ceiling and connected a gas filter.

- I've set the filtered gas to Hydrogen.

- Everything has power.

- I have connected the Filter Output piping to the Hydrogen Generator.

- I've taken the pipe from the Gas Filter output, used a Pipe Bridge to cross the Filter Output and then go down into some caverns for the waste gases.

As far as I can tell I haven't done anything wrong, but I'm still getting constant Wrong Element damage. No gas seems to be going out of the "all gases" output to the waste, it all seems to be going straight through to the generator. The filter is also not playing an animation for some reason.

Am I overlooking something obvious? Thanks all.

The yellow middle section of the filter is what you set your filter gas to.  Seems you have some oxygen flowing out of it into the hydrogen generator.

Maybe just delete all the pipes and redo it, they may be connected together somewhere they're not supposed to be.

That is indeed the problem. In fact everything is going through, including Natural Gas and CO2 as well. I don't understand why, since as you can see in this third screenie, I have told it to filter for H2.

EDIT - Okay, what an idiot, just noticed the problem. The input and middle filter output are connected by 1 unwanted unit of pipe! UGH! XD

I have deleted it and the problem is fixed. I will leave it up for any other struggling newbs who might have this problem!

As you can see in your screenshot you short circuited the input and the filtered output.
Pay attention to your piping when placing the filters.

Literally just noticed this right as you posted! Took me 30 minutes...haha...good job I'm not a plumber in RL ;) Thank you!
