Official documentation...?

Recommended Posts

Is there any official documentation for the INI files? It is so frustrating looking at outdated (or just plain incorrect) fan-made wiki pages, Steam guides, and Chinese blog articles when the devs should be giving us this information themselves.

For example, where does "vote_kick_enabled" go in cluster.ini? Network? Misc? Gameplay? None seem to work. Is it vote_kick_enabled, or enable_vote_kick?

Is there an INI variable for server token, or are we forced to use cluster_token.txt? Does whitelist_slots go under Network, or Gameplay, and will the server's initialization log indicate that there are whitelist slots?

Again, all these questions and more could be answered easily if there were official documentation.

That said, more specific to your questions:

Afaik the placement where you put things in the ini files doesn't matter, since these ones are only categorisations for the user. The devs placed the vote_enabled that enables all vote features into gameplay.

Afaik there's no INI variable for the server token, since I never had any issues placing it in the default location. It's a intuitive location that makes sense, so I never bothered wondering if I could move it somehow.

Whitelist_slots is set to be in the networking category in the cluster.ini. Yes, usually the server log tells you what settings you used, I never messed with the Whitelist_slots though, so I can't really say for sure if this one is listed there as well.
