Oxygen purifier using crude oil

Recommended Posts

Here is my attempt at making an oxygen purifier using the new crude oil. The oil has a very low freezing point of -273.2 C and a very high heat capacity which makes it great as a cooling agent.

The cold crude oil chamber should first be filled with some gas before introducing the oil. In this case I used Helium, but hydrogen should work just fine.

Both the pressure sensors for the gas pumps is set to work above 1000g, but can be set to whatever you want really.

The temperature sensor in the oxygen liquification chamber is set to below -183C just to make sure the pipe leading from the pump is not damaged.

The temperature sensor at the top of the cold crude oil chamber is set to above -225C, (other values might also work but this seem to be a good number). The sensor is placed at the top but in the oil for a faster reaction of the system.

The thermo aquatuner is submerged in crude oil so that the oil can absorb the heat from it. The oil is later cooled by the purified oxygen as it passes over the wirebridges which are made from wolframite, as is the high watt bridge and wire.

Nice design ParaMart,  Nice to liquify and then heat right after on the same device!  Here's a closed-loop radiator version I did recently, very low cost and very high production. I would then reheat liquid O2 in a separate room if that's how I want use the liquid.  Aquatuner would obviously be somewhere else in a real game, like a cooling room or a heating room like you did.

EDIT: actually it's not really low-cost cause I'm feeding it with 4 PO2 pumps right now, but a version with 1 pump is very cheap, just less liquid O2 output. ;)
