Is the EA balanced?

Recommended Posts

I bought the game back in February, tried it and loved it but it had some problems. I remember you ran out of algae like super-fast and the water kept mysteriously disappearing in the plumbing. I also remember a trick where you could build a closed plumbing system with the toilet pumping dirty water to the shower and back.

Have all these problems been addressed in the meantime? How is your general feeling from playing the EA?

You realize your topic title has no relation to the actual questions asked? Balance is not bugfixes.

Anyway water disappearing was squashed in TU so some time ago. Algae is quite randomized in starting area, but based on our feedback, Algae deoxydizer now has a lower consumption rate. Algae Terrariums have even lower but that's offset by a water cost and increase in delivery jobs. Should be good for at least 20 cycles. And research of electrolyser was moved from 3rd to 2nd column so you can set it up sooner.

As for balance, that is an ongoing process. We've picked and prodded things in closed testing as much as we could and I think many things in "early" and "mid" game are pretty balanced. But some numbers are, I think, scaling pretty bad with bigger colonies (for example feeding best food to just 12 dupes), so it is an ongoing process.

Sorry bud I had no idea the disappearing water is a bug. I thought it could be evaporation or leakage or some other feature not yet fully implemented. Shower accepting dirty water from a toilet was also bug? Plus all of these were just examples from the top of my head, I really wanted to ask generally about the balance. Anyway thanks for your answer.
