Another idea for a funny/challenging enhancement to the Thermal Update...


Thirsty Debuff

Dups now require 1500g water/cycle.

After 1 cycle without water, Dups get a minor thirsty debuff to stress and all abilities.
After 2 cycles without water, Dups get a major dehydrated debuff to stress and all abilities.
After 3 cycles without water, Death

Pee Mechanics:
full bladder = 1500g pee (polluted water)
1500g water = ~50 fl oz water

Art/Animation: Dup faces look withered, and puff clouds of "sand".

New building: Giant Soda Syphon (seltzer bottle)

The Giant Soda Syphon is a 2x3 (w/h) that stores water and CO2. It requires 60 W power and gives off 5 W heat. A small amount of CO2 is absorbed when used (like an inefficient Air Scrubber) and it needs regular water deliveries (like Microbe Musher).

Optional: Farm berry bushes to create flavored sodas and reduce stress (temporary buff). Different Dups prefer different flavors. Collect them all!

Art/Animation: Dups tilt their head back, open their mouth wide, and blast a stream of soda water into their gullet!

New tool: Giant Drinking Straw

If Soda Syphon isn't built/accessible, Dups will pull out a Giant Drinking Straw and find the nearest water (or polluted water (stupid Dups)) to quench their thirst. Using the Drinking Straw takes much longer than the Soda Syphon (same amount of time as eating) and risks instant disease if drinking polluted water.

Art/Animation: Dups balance on one foot while slurping, slurping, slurping that water. Pinky's up!
