Znake Gmer
As I have experienced from this game, water is the most important element in this game from making food, water for the plants and oxygen. Although we find polluted water in areas and some have clean water, the usage of water is more than the find and refinement of water. Food serves as the energy for the duplicates and stress reliever. I know that the latest update (Thermal Update) adds some solution for food problems, but as I see it some food here are hard to manage. So I suggest that the food problem is to be solved by adding more plants or finding a way to make meat food.
Kasuha
Regarding water, there are geysers which are in my understanding unlimited supply of water - you just need to tame them in a way that does not break all the time and cool the water down. Regarding food, the renewable food source are bristle blossoms. You need to keep them in sufficiently cold place and give them fertilizer but that's what fertilizer makers are for. Where I see an obstacle in current game is cooling, in particular cooling of liquids. There are Wheezeworts which have only kind of abuse-y way of replanting (which also relies on leaving some original tiles untouched) and there are Thermal Regulators, but both cool gases. An pulling a pipe through a ice biome or a cold room comes with danger that the liquid will freeze in the pipe and the pipe will break.

Pipes won't freeze if the liquid isn't running through the cold room for too long alternately, you can use insulated pipes to dump hot water into a room full of cold hydrogen, which should turn the water into ice outside the pipe. The only certain way to prevent your pipes breaking is to keep the room above freezing temperature. But then the cooling will be slower too. When the room is below freezing, it just needs the pump or valve to produce a small liquid blob (a few grams) and it will freeze and break the first section of pipe that's cold enough. Or your batteries will run out at the start of the night accidentally and the liquid will stop in the pipe and freeze.
