Mercury and gold separate could be useful. Gold only for, wires. Mercury and iron for single-use powercells. Those could power some better tools or your colony and than go to waste. Oxylite is iridium peroxide and iridium is one hard metal. Iridium and iron could make mining drills, far better than those basic ones. And powered with batteries.
