Water Access

We can pipe water from the ends of the earth-like asteroid to the base but it needs to be sitting out in an open pool for the Dupes to go gather it.  Why not a machine with a water inlet that allows Dupes to gather water without having to go trekking all over or risking open air contamination?

I think he means a building with a reservoir and a tap where they can collect bottled water.

Would be nice, as it would enable to build them where water is actually needed without having to resort to small basins that overflow back into the contaminated water storage (as the duplicants usually decide to vomit into clean water).

This is fixed by simply building one tile between the living floor and any water reservoir, which blocks contaminated water spreading over. Otherwise, what you're describing seems purely graphical/aesthetic (animation of operating a tap instead of animation of using a ghostbuster rifle pump, with same result). Which is fine, if that's what he means, but I just got the impression it was a mechanics request of some sort other than that *shrug*
