Zarine
Although we do not see the surface, we could imagine that there is some liquid pouring slowly into the ground and at some point reaching our base. So the idea would be some special events bringing some liquid from the ceiling (as long as it's not water impermeable tiles). The quantity should be limited but could have an impact on the base. The liquid could be water, contaminated water or any kind of liquid that are added later in the game. Thus building a roof could be needed to avoid for instance some future acid liquid to fall into your base through the ground. And it also add a small regeneration to water. bfhbuddy
Cool idea but it isn't on a planet. It takes place on an asteroid, so rain leakingĀ from the surface wouldn't really make sense. I still agree that there should be special events that bring in new resources.
WSmillie
Maybe ice forms on the surface and then it melts and drips through the rocks? It is cold in space after all.
OneVoltTen
There are water/lava rivers planned to be added (in the code) I think this would resolve this as water is limited.
