Streaming DST

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, i'm streaming DS RoG for a while now, and decided to start streaming DST, i was just wondering, do i need a really high upload speed to stream and host a DST server in the same time, i have 2mb/s upload speed, and i was just wondering if that's enough.
Thank you in advance :)

I have the same uploas speed. It gets a bit laggy when streaming  dst. Especially on worlds that are a bit older with lots if stuff in them.

But it also has to do with ur pc specs and the quality of your upspeed.

Give it a go to see how it works, only way to really find out.

I started renting a server instead of hosting from my stream pc. That made a huge difference.

Good  luck!

I actually streamed it a bit just for the testing purposes, i made my world and everything but i was the only person on the server, i didn't have any lags, stream health graph on twitch was a bit spiky but i wasn't dropping any frames or anything, and my ping was good.
Does that mean it's gonna be fine with 3 more people on the server?

In my experience more people means more lag and frame drops. But my connection is real spiky from time to time so that might be the bigger issue for me.

Are you dropping any frames while streaming, did you notice anything?

When I was hosting a world on the same pc as I was streaming from I did loose more and more frames the more players that were on the server and the olde the world was. Renting a server removed all dst related stream issues.

But as I said, its also connected to quality of upload, not only the speed. and pc specs. You might be better off than me and have no issues.
