an exp system in don't starve together

it would be cool if an exp was added to DST and would make it more realistic because the way i would make an exp system wouldn't be like doing anything and just getting an upgrade to all stats it would be more like this: for example lets say you cut down a tree when you chop the tree you get an exp point and with five tree cuttings you would be more efferent with an axe so trees take lest chops and chop speed increases another example is with defense if you get hit by any attack regardless of damage dealt you would get defense points which when u level up you get a little bit more defense when attacked this exp system can be used with everything you do in the game from twig gathering to max hp increases this idea to me has lots of potential

I don't see it.

Just think about characters who are brains rather than brawns. Others may be less of hoarders, instead relying on just the right amount of resources. Heck, I'm lazy enough to recruit pigs to chop for me while I farm their allied sanity.

I just believe there's nothing to justify such a system. The Accomplishrine sucks. Klei themselves said so.

I don't think an exp system will fit in the DST universe. Let's take your example :

- I cut trees. I learn that the best tree to cut is (for me), the stage with 3 wood and 2 pinecone, so i focus on theses trees. I know that golden axe is better so i make a golden axe. I know that pigs could help me so i plant my pinecones near a pig village so i have a forest near the pigs.

- I fight. I learn that monster could be dangerous so i search an armor. My favorite is football helmet and backpack (balance between protection and convenience), but it's not enought to facetank everything. So i learn to kite, but sometime it's also not enough. So i learn to use monster against monster, this way i can kill the survivor, and avoid a lot of risk. And i use sometimes traps near the spider eggs to trap them and this way i have less spider to fight.

This could be done for everything in the game, and it's better than xp system. Why ? Because xp system is a permanent reward without need to make news efforts. The DST system force you to adapt, to search a better way, but if you stop your efforts, you will not keep the advantage.

What you are suggesting is more fitting for a mod than for the classic DST experience.
