Faintly Macabre
When I use SteamCmd to update my dedicated server on my Ubuntu 12.04 LS Linode, it's overwriting my dedicated_server_mods_setup.lua file with the blank template file. Why would it be doing this? Won't that keep the server software from updating my mods? Muche
Yeah, it's doing it because of validate command for steamcmd. Removing it from the startup script should help; i.e. having only +app_update 343050 +quit. Faintly Macabre
Ah, okay. Thanks. Will I need to take any other extra steps now? Was there a good reason to use validate to begin with? Muche
According to https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Validate, the validate command is recommended on first installation, later when there are problems with the server due to corrupted files.
