I get great ping to several of the east coast official servers, but most of them have periodic performance issues and in particular The Stinking Merm has been basically unplayable recently (tons of rubber-banding, server frequently displaying red performance at worst, and yellow (2 bars) at best.) Seems like the official servers should get upgraded a bit across the board, and maybe rebooted after each server reset (which maybe would fix Stinking Merm, if it's not failing hardware?) In its current state it is very error prone and doesn't benefit you with anything while providing an illusion of it doing anything beneficial. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=367593872 Your combat skills will improve if you stick with the latency-related movement as you get used to the feel of it.
