Maco02
Why do I need to configure the steam ports master_server_port and authentication_port? I don't have does ports open and the server works perfectly. For what Steam ports are used? And why must I care about them?
Zillvr
@Maco02 I could be wrong but I believe , based on this list of information (source). These steam ports are internal ports that allows the servers you run on the same machine to be unique from each other. That is that I think they are for because the description in that link does say that you have to make sure that this is different for each server you run on the same machine. You may be able to get a more detailed information if you asked your question there. Good luck, cheers.
Maco02
That source didn't answer my question. The ports can't be used to be "unique". I think that these are output ports that dst use to connect to Steam. I don't know why they allow us to specify output ports. It would be much easier if they use a port that it's free. Or at least do that if you don't specify none. I would apprecieate some confirmation if I'm right. Or if there is some good reason to do it in this way. Zillvr
@Maco02 then I guess your next best course of action is to ask the devs directly in the link I mentioned above. Sorry for not being much help, good luck. Cheers.
