[Idea] Towels?

Recommended Posts

I think a way to quickly dry off is very necessary for this game. Here's my idea.

The towel requires 4 cloth (Just a placeholder for now) and starts out dry, and at 100% durability. Using the towel will decrease its durability by 10% (or maybe 5%) and removes your wetness (Or at least MOST of it) In exchange, the towel will also become wet depending on the amount of wetness you had before. Drying the towel is another situation. The towel will not dry off by simply standing by a fire, as it takes much more time for it to dry off. An alternative way to drying off the towel is to hang it on a drying rack. It would take 1 day to fully dry, and I think it should be able to be harvested at any time in order to store it in case of a storm. I think this would be a really cool idea, but it may be a little bit overpowered.

Thoughts? I'd appreciate it, thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the towels should be able to be repaired to 100% via Sewing Kits.

Though why wouldn't fire dry off a towel? It does for everything else. That seems like the unnescessary addition of a mechanic to me.

My thought is because you dried yourself with a towel, the towel will become wet dependant on how wet you are yourself. If it dried off as quickly as all other items did, it would be too easy to use. I wasn't intending on the towel to not be able to be dried by fire, but it would possibly need to take longer to dry depending on how wet the towel is. This is just to make sure it'd be balanced enough to encorporate into the game.

Good idea.. We already need something for puddles. This makes sense my friend.

I didn't think of this. Being able to mop up puddles would be great!

However, I think it would only be able to clear 1 tile's worth of puddle per use, and it would completely soak the towel. Being able to avoid the downsides of Monsoon should require a lot of material and/or time. Plus, there are already sandbags to use as well.

Ice melts (and isn't always at hand) and the flingo is stationary. A bucket could be filled from sea/tide/floodwater/pond sources in an emergency and chucked at your intended target.

It'd be handy to have a full bucket sitting near your base in case of fire, but considering it takes up a whole inventory slot it might not be as useful to carry it around.
