[Bug Report] Perspective Bug

For whatever reason, whenever I join a server I see a different landscape than others. Trees would be over the sea and my landscape and area would be completely different. Whenever I asked my friends to show me what they saw, it was completely different. Some times, I would be on the sea and I couldn't get to land.

It was the other way around when I started a server. They would be walking on the sea with trees over the sea. Basically, the same as what was happening to me.

We did single it down to me being the problem, since I tried with 2 different friends.

Could I please be told what is happening or how I could fix it?

Thanks!

It sounds like the game is having trouble loading up save and server files. Most likely this is because your Windows profile does not have proper read/write access to your documents folder (this is where your game save files are located). Try the following steps to see if these help resolve the issue.

1) Fully exit the game and close/exit out of Steam. Then restart your computer to see if that helps.

2) If not, ensure that when you are running Don’t Starve Together – that the Windows profile you are using has administrative access, and ensure that you are running the game as an administrator. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/how-do-i-run-an-application-once-with-a-full-administrator-access-token

3) If that fails, try creating another save directory (say c:\DontStarveTogether) and then launch the game with that as the save directory:

- In steam right-click the game in your library
- Select ‘properties’
- Click ‘Set launch options’
- Enter ‘-persistent_storage_root c:\DontStarveTogether’ (without the quotes)
- Close dialog.
- And the next one
- Launch the game.

Should you continue to encounter the issue, please post your log.txt file for us. Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\log.txt
