Aviivix
Heya! I'm kinda a noob to this but I searched around and couldn't find anything that could help me with this. I'm interested in modding a character to Don't Starve. (I don't have the game just yet but I want to see if I can do this before I get it.) I can draw for it and all that, but the thing is I think this character might be complicated since I want this character to be a falconer and for that I might need a Chester-esque mechanic with an item to summon the falcon as a starting item for her. (The item being a Falconer's Gauntlet.) The falcon is hostile to mobs besides the player, and is very fast. The thing is, I think I'd need to make a new mob for this and I'm not sure if making new mobs is possible? Arkathorn
As long as you have assets and enough time, you can do a tremendous number of things with the Don't Starve engine (including new mobs). It is a highly functional modding environment, especially because of Lua. However, I don't think you will be able to do this without access to the source code.
