RakNet UDP startup failed: SOCKET_PORT_ALREADY_IN_USE

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, searched around and can't find any answers or replies to this one. I used this excellent guide on how to setup my servers and it worked, initially.

http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/60748-guide-how-to-setup-dedicated-server-cave-on-windows-server/?p=706686

The overworld server seems to load fine but when I load my caves batch file it spits this out

"RakNet UDP startup failed: SOCKET_PORT_ALREADY_IN_USE"

I've made sure the ports for OW/caves are different in the settings.ini

The server is also invisible in my browser, I've attached my logs if anyone can have a look and tell me what they think I'd very much appreciate it! thanks

Hi @Litebite,

this means that either your server is already under implementation and you try to start again or there is a problem with opening ports on your router

you can check what port is already open with netstat:

http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/the-enterprise-cloud/netstat-tips-and-tricks-for-windows-server-admins/

of course you need also check if you have correctly open port on your router:

think also to check if there is not already running processes of server DST with windows task manager:
