Why not have players who are banned get pulled to the depths by shadow hands? This animation is already in Don't Starve when world hopping, and I can't imagine the coding would be too rigorous. I doubt too many people would see the animation frequently, but it would add a little more to an already charming game. Different animations and announcements would be nice.
