Steps to Reproduce: Playing with an xbox controller in windows 10. Attack a monster, or approach hounds. When they attack, the chat window pops up. I was unable to repro it on my machine, but it got me thinking. The chat button is currently mapped to the pressing Left Thumb Stick. Some controllers have an easier time accidentally pressing this button when you are trying to run around, especially if you have a firm grip on the controller. Could you try unbinding "Toggle Say" in the Options-> Controlls screen? Let me know if this helps or not. I know this is not the best button to map it to but there was nowhere else for it to go.
