With autocatch mod, have to manually catch boomerang. Assuming you are pertaining to the AutoCatch Mod which has versions for both of those games. All DST related posts should be directed in the DST subforums. While all DS related posts should be directed to the DS subforums. On the matter at hand, I believe manually catching the Boomerang with the Do Action Key (Spacebar by default) is how it really is intended to work. If you want to autocatch it, use the mod. If not, then don't. Manual Boomerang catching is not a bug, unless your Do Action Key is broken or otherwise not registering with the game. Cheers.
