Bearry
First time attempting survive in volcanic season. Thank god(or thank time) that monsoon season is over, which literally tortured my food supply(for crockpot cooking). How do I stop overheating in Shipwrecked besides using the classic approach from RoG?(Like say, use Eyebrella, Summer Frest, Cool amulet. etc) Majority of them prolly won't work very well...... So far, my only method is to intentionally ram against waves while sailing to gain wetness, which works out surprisingly well. What are other ways to stop overheating? Zillvr
@Bearry, if you have enough resources for it, I'd suggest making an Ice Cube. It lasts for most of the season if you craft it only at the time when you really start to overheat and lose health. So for the first few days, you can survive by hiding in the shade when overheating happens. Plus there is also a new structure for Shipwrecked called the Ice Maker 3000, make use of that. Congrats on surviving the Monsoon, good luck with Summer. Cheers.
Bearry
Aw man, Ice cube?? Which I virtually never use it at all during my times in RoG, as it is easy but cumbersome to make.And..... I still find no gears to make ice box up till now.Oh, and it seems that standing under trees seems to work better in Shipwrecked than in RoG, or are the mechanics the same? Bearry
Wtf. The rock shower just destroyed my docked cargo ship -.- all my goods just evaporated. Fortunately have enough logs to build a shitty raft to sail back to base.
Zillvr
@Bearry, yep, Ice Cube. I may have been lucky on my map, since I found a rock island with lotsa gold around the first 10 days of the run. So Ice Cube has been my go to item for managing overheating. Based on memory, I think SW overheating is milder compared to RoG. Could be entirely wrong since I haven't played DS:RoG in a very long while, but it feels that way. Hiding in the shade is the same, it probably just seems like it works better since overheating isn't very overwhelming in SW. With gears, just explore more islands and hopefully you'll find what you are looking for. I'd suggest you stay on a boat in the sea while rock shower occurs. Only land once it stops and do your business then get out as soon as your character says something about the incoming rock shower. I hope you have prebuilt another ship to use. Always have them prebuilt. Good luck...
MikeJ
Wtf. The rock shower just destroyed my docked cargo ship -.- all my goods just evaporated. Fortunately have enough logs to build a shitty raft to sail back to base. I am convinced that the volcano aims for docked boats. If there is an eruption happaning, you need to either keep the boat in motion or off screen.
